Web-based Communication for Members
“The Centre” Website Portal which will be the main method of two-way communication with SLV ConEx members, and when we have established our membership income will become more than just a front page.
Formation of a SLV Independent Training Group
Formation will offer effective and economic skill enhancement facilities for CITB members in this area, and access to regional funding for a training officer.
Develop SME Supply Chain Methodology
This is a rather clumsy title for a process by which local Small & Medium size companies can be assessed, assembled and then involved in large scale Development Projects by being bolted-on to Larger Contractors in a supply chain – This is the way that the legacy objectives of the Olympics can be delivered.
Lead on Bid for an Olympic Consolidation Centre
We have identified a location in this area that could be the basis of a bid for this particular facility – that is a complex that receives all types of raw and manufactured building materials and consolidates them into packages which are then delivered by means of sustainable transportation to building teams at the workface, in this case the Stratford Olympic site – again enormous legacy value for other future projects in the Stort Lea Valley Area.

The Stort Lea Valley Constructing Excellence Centre project was initiated in Summer 2005 by Danny Purton (PPM) who was appointed Project manager by Constructing Excellence in the East of England.
The project kicked-off in January 2006, with an agreed vision and project plan.
A representative Steering Group has been completing the project tasks and moving during the summer towards the establishment of a management committee and the official launch of SLV ConEx during National Construction Week in October 2006.
The successful Summer Networking Event held in June introduced many new companies to SLV ConEx. This will hopefully lead to a healthy membership subscription list which will enable rapid progress on our key activities and projects.
